Interpersonal Skills

Introduction

In this blog post I will be describing what interpersonal skills i have developed over the course of year so far and I will also explain how I have used these skills.

Dealing with questions
The first Interpersonal Skill I have been using is dealing with questions, i used this interpersonal skill in Unit 1 where i had to do a presentation and during the presentation and also at the end of the presentation questions were asked about the relevant topic. I have also dealt with questions in other Units as well, for example i have dealt with questions in Unit 6 and 14, I got asked different questions about what the different data types are and how they are used.

Use of Media and animation

The second Interpersonal I have used is the use of media and animation and media. I have used this skill in Unit 31 Computer Animation, this is because I have been learning new things about flash to improve my skills overall, later on in this unit I will be creating my own animation using a variety of skills I have picked up along the way. I have also used the use of animation and media by using videos in my presentation for Unit 1, this was to show my peers viewing my presentation how to do different things.

Team work

The third Interpersonal Skill i have used is the use of team work, I have used this interpersonal skill in most of the Units i do. For example i have used this Skill in Unit 31 Computer Animation, I used this skill in a group task where the class watched a video and we had to see how many films we could see that have used CGI when making the film. I have also used this skill in Unit 6 and 14, I have been a part of a few tasks that have involved group work, for example finding out what the different data types are and what they are used for. I have also used team work in Unit 2 Computer Systems, this is because while i was fitting parts of a computer together while the other person was taking photos of me doing this.

Language and terminology used

The next interpersonal skill i have used is language and terminology, I have used this skill in Unit 40 Game Design, this is because for all the tasks I have done, each document that I have done in Unit 40, I have used language and terminology throughout the course so far this year, I had to do this to meet the criteria set for me to get either the Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Confidence

The next interpersonal skill I have used is the level of confidence that I have used over the course of the year. I have used this in all of my lessons but more so in Unit 1 more than any other lesson, this is because of the presentation I had to present to the class and I wasn't very confident, this has developed my confidence skills massively because I feel a lot more comfortable presenting in front of people now. I also have to use my confidence in Unit 40 because of the gaming presentation I have to do later on in the year.

Barriers

One important interpersonal skill is that when trying to communicate with someone there could be a sound barrier; this damages the communication because if something important is said the person / people you are talking to might not be able to hear you properly so they might miss some highly important information. It would make it a lot easier if the communication was done in a quiet place so everyone involved in that conversation can take in the key points needed and that everybody understands.

I have used this interpersonal skill in a variety of different lessons so far this year. For example when speaking in front of a group in different lessons, I have broken down the barriers which enables me to communicate better with people in a variety of different ways in all of my lessons, the different barriers have also heped me understand more of peoples views on different things.
